Profile

Platform engineer who owns architecture, infrastructure, identity and security at a London fintech, reporting to the CEO. I build and run the internal developer platform the company ships with, and I hold AI-written code to the same standard as anyone's: a written spec first, tests first, gated by CI and reviewed by a model from a second vendor.

Experience

Lead Platform Engineer, Altimist Ltd

Aug 2023 – present
  • Built the internal developer platform for AI-assisted delivery: a Claude Code plugin of 21 skills and 3 hook events (spec-first authoring, test-driven implementation, cross-vendor adversarial review), and a versioned engineering baseline rolled out to about 26 repositories by automated pull request.
  • 1,400+ merged pull requests across 40 repositories between Dec 2025 and Sep 2026; monthly volume rose from 76 to 381.
  • Designed the Software Factory, an agent execution and evaluation platform: queue-driven dispatch with a dead-letter queue and transactional outbox, sandboxed containers with per-run credentials, rubric-graded review gates and an instant kill switch. Chose the platform from a measured spike (3.3 s cold start, 32 ms warm).
  • Built the company's identity provider from scratch: did:web with WebAuthn passkeys and W3C Verifiable Credentials. The sign-in for internal applications since May 2026, with federation to self-hosted DIDs.
  • Run cloud and SaaS infrastructure as code through Terraform Cloud (plan on pull request, apply on merge, daily drift detection) across GitHub, Cloudflare, Kafka, Databricks and observability. AWS and Microsoft 365 as code; joiner, mover and leaver access automated.
  • Moved all application hosting to Cloudflare Workers and retired Vercel (Sep 2026), cutting the monthly hosting bill roughly tenfold.
  • Built an on-premises speech pipeline on an NVIDIA DGX Spark (NeMo ASR, diarisation, voiceprint speaker naming) for audio that cannot leave the building.
  • Set technical direction through architecture decision records: 44 of the company's 61, including the identity move from OIDC to did:web. Own vendor selection and compliance.

Career transition into software development, Self-employed

Sep 2021 – Aug 2023
  • Self-taught full-stack development (JavaScript, React, Python, REST APIs, SQL). Delivered a paid client website; explored Motoko on the Internet Computer. Tutored A-Level and IB mathematics privately.

Teacher of Mathematics, Wimbledon High School GDST

Sep 2019 – Jul 2021
  • Taught mathematics across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE and A-Level. Completed the NQT induction year and a further year.

Earlier: academic tutor and mentor, Leading Lights Tuition (2015–2018); special projects coordinator and volunteer corps member, City Year UK (2014–2016).
